Long COVID haulers

2023
Women have a higher risk of developing long COVID, with those aged 40 to 50 accounting for 7 out of 10 cases. Long COVID is an often misunderstood and debilitating neurological condition with over 200 symptoms, potentially affecting 4.6% of the European population, according to the WHO. Despite its impact, public awareness of the disease remains low—a reflection of the social stigma often seen with illnesses that predominantly affect women.

This project documents the consequences of long COVID on women’s lives: the fear, helplessness, and the collapse of life plans and expectations.
